About Me
For nearly fifty years my husband, Bill, and I worked together and separately to perfect our creations in wood and glass. Bill became ill with lung cancer in January 2012 and after a year and a half battle, died in August 2013.
From the beginning of our relationship, we had a choice to go for the traditional model where the husband is the artist and the wife is the helpmate working toward his success or as equal partners, artists in our own rights, who could come together to collaborate on projects using our shared talents. Wood and glass seemed to naturally lend themselves to combination.
At first I worked creating jewelry from gold and silver but that became too limited in size, scale and color for me. I became interested in stained glass; it provided size and an abundance of color as well as sustained effort of design and creation. Today my interest lies in creating fused glass “paintings”, objects and jewelry.
Bill’s interests included anything that had to do with wood and ranged from designing and building furniture, architectural components including doors and interior woodworking, to full sized carvings of people, griffons, dragons and even a pioneer family.
We found many ways to incorporate stained or fused glass to furniture and doors. We could have gone on forever but the Universe had other plans and I have been left here with my legacy of more than forty of Bill’s creations, a beautiful studio and all the tools to continue to work on my art.
Bill and I had always spent a great deal of time teaching our respective crafts to others. Then in mid-1992 Recovery entered our lives and we discovered the joys of helping others to find a spiritual way of life. We held many different service positions in our 12-Step fellowship of choice.
Today I’m still active in speaking, writing, mentoring and art. My passion in life today is to carry the legacy of Bill’s art and teaching forward to help as many people as I can to find themselves and create in this ever changing world of ours.
