The Studio
Inspirations in Wood and Glass
fifield’s, THE STUDIO, was our creative partnership for nearly 45 years until Bill died in August 2016. We worked together and separately, perfecting our various skills in wood and glass.
We loved a creative challenge and the majority of our work was produced on a commission basis. We very much enjoyed taking other people’s ideas and bring them to life.
Today, I have a few furniture pieces created by Bill in the Studio and for sale which I will showcase on this website along with recent examples of my work in glass. I am still willing to take commissions on glass window and panel projects.
Sandy Fifield
I love creating intricate designs in glass and I have become well-known for my mastery of several techniques. My artwork is displayed in businesses and private homes all over the United States.
Using the painstaking copper foil method of stained glass construction, I create delicate birds, landscapes and florals. |

Bill Fifield
Bill was a designer, artist and craftsman who delighted in solving problems in wood.
Master woodworking techniques and folk art methods were the cornerstone of his delightful and ingenious work… everything from entry doors, desks, tables and chairs to hand-carved gun cases, mantles, pillars, lecterns, corbels and more. Bill’s work can also include Sandy’s stained or fused glass. Click here to view samples
Bill has extensively explored the art of Adirondack Twig furniture. After constructing a spruce or pine case for a grandfather clock, trunk or cabinet, he applied twigs to the surface in a pattern that created unique texture and detail. Click here to view samples
Bill also entered the world of sculpture producing life-size woodcarvings as stand-alone creations or as a part of architectural woodworking during the last ten years of his life
